(DE) After a late spring and a fickle summer came a beautiful autumn with equable weather. Never before had we handled such a lovely, elegant and balanced year of such enduring promise. The 2006 vintage commenced on September 5 amid expectations and doubts. After the late spring and variable summer all our hopes lay with the autumn. Thanks to the long-awaited dry and outstandingly warm September and October, both early and late varieties ripened nicely. This was one of those special years where high sugar and alcohol content combined with a pleasant acidity. Of of which were crowned by concentrated fruity aromas and deep colours.
