About the year
January and February 2020 brought mild winter weather and the distribution of precipitation during the season was uneven, but the soil still received sufficient water.
The spring was extremely dry, the third driest since 1901. March began with a still wet start, followed by a long dry spell which continued through April and into May, somewhat slowing down shoot growth, but by the end of May the flowering had started to take off everywhere.
The summer of 2020 was warmer than usual, following a very cool May, the summer was warm and August brought extra warm days. Several times during the summer, the grapes received timely rain in the right amounts, which also contributed to a balanced ripening. By the end of the summer and the beginning of September, the grapes had ripened nicely and we were able to harvest healthy bunches. The 2020 vintage produced beautiful and really fruity wines with great potential.
