Tasting notes

A Portugieser from the Jammertal and Ördögárok vineyards, bottled following fermentation and six months of maturation in wooden casks. The longer maturing period extends the wine’s lifetime. Crimson in colour with shades of purple, with velvety acids, fruity in flavour while cherry aromas appear in its bouquet. A more complex, spicier wine than is customary in a Portugieser.

About the year

2012 was a year of extreme cold and hot temperatures. The winter freeze was followed by a long, dry spring and summer. The extra warmth brought early budding and an early vintage. The year produced wines of outstanding quality and high alcohol content.
