Tasting notes

Crystal clear, mirror-like, with a medium-deep salmon hue. Evenly descending legs and a clearly visible crown suggest a high content of extract.

On the nose, it opens with delicate strawberry notes, complemented by ripe nectarine and orange peel. On the palate, the wine is dry, balanced, and refreshing, without an overtly high acidity. In addition to the fruits promised on the nose, subtle hints of grapefruit peel and a slight cherry pit bitterness complete the endlessly long finish.

Thanks to amphora aging, it shows just the right level of complexity. The micro-oxidation through the clay has created a wine of substance that stands out from the usual “tutti-frutti” aroma and flavor bomb rosés, while also making it a wine with highly versatile gastronomic potential.

About the year

The year began mildly, but in April cold weather set in, and for some varieties the yield was lower; fortunately, we were spared any frost damage. At the end of April, warm weather arrived, and the early May flowering already signaled an early harvest. During the summer drought, we were concerned about our 2–3-year-old young vineyards, but they performed well and produced a fine crop.

At the Bock vineyards, we did not use herbicides, and with the appropriate under-vine cultivation equipment, we managed to keep the rows weed-free. This marked another step toward organic cultivation, allowing us to completely replace chemical weed control.

Thanks to the very warm and dry summer, the grapes ripened quickly, and on August 1, in the midst of a heatwave, we began the harvest with the Irsai variety. The challenges of this year’s harvest, in addition to overlapping ripening periods, included the lack of storage capacity during the picking, which caused a great deal of difficulty. We have never finished the harvest as early as in 2024—on September 25, the last batch of grapes arrived at our cellar.
