About the year
Like last year, this winter was a mild one. The spring warmth came early along with budding. Here and there the unexpected cold snap in April resulted in (damage from) frost; luckily this did not affect the entire wine region, but mostly around and west of Siklós. The unusually summery weather at the end of spring tried to make us forget April. Summer was full of challenges for wine-growers.
Excessive rainfall and sudden changes in temperature made pest control and canopy management more difficult. However, with attention and timely work we were able to produce a harvest of good quality and satisfactory quantity. Due to the cool summer the vintage began later than usual. Warmer than average temperatures during and at the end of September ensured a satisfactory must level.
